Travel with a spirit of humility and a genuine desire to learn more about your host country.
Be sensitive and aware of the feelings of others.
Refrain from what might be offensive behavior on your part - this applies for example for photography.
Cultivate the habit of listening  and learning rather than merely hearing and seeing.
Realize that the people of your host country have different concepts thought patterns, appropriate behaviour, moral, time etc. This does not make them inferior - just different. Try to understand  rather than to critizice.
Instead of just looking for a beach paradise, discover enrichment of seeing and a different way of life through the eyes of your hosts.
Acquaint yourself with local customs- local people will be happy to help you. Instead of the western attitude of knowing all the answers, cultivate the habit of listening for new answers.
Remember that you are one of thousands, even millions of visiting tourists. Do not expect special privileges.
If you really want your experience to be home away from home, you should not waste your money on travelling.
When shopping, remember the bargain you obtain is often made possible only by the low wages of your host country.
Do not make promises to people in your host country unless you are certain to carry them through.
Spend time reflecting on your daily experiences in an attempt to deepen your understanding of what has been said.
